11MDE, you’re definitely not a JCL with those time scales.

Warchild, I make you 100% right to continue supporting the team with all your heart, while never giving up hope and always calling for a conversion of the athletics shithouse or a new home we can all agree on.

Well I know this isn't a ' who is the biggest West Ham fan competiton, but I've had a season ticket since 1994 and have been going often since 1983. I aprreciate there will be a lot more loyal fans than me, but I doubt I qualify for the 'Johnny Come Lately' tag.

Re: Hammers United talk to Bill Gardner.
Why do I need to take a look at myself 11mde? Every time I go to watch a game there I get behind the team like I always have done and do my best to help the limited few still trying to get an atmosphere going.

Doesn't mean I can't still hate the place and hope/campaign that at some point in the future we play in a football stadium again. One where the players can actually hear the encouragement the fans are giving them.

But then cunty little johnny come latelys like you wouldn't have a fucking clue about why that is important to a club and fanbase like West Ham.

OOOH I WISH IT WAS 1983 AGAIN..........YAWN

Where were hammers united when they were moving us into this cunt stadium anyway? Choosing fucking flag colours probably. VANITY PROJECT.

Oh dear. As he said 'take a look at themselves'. Might be an idea if you do the same and quite often too.

No one is living in the past 11mde you silly little prick. They just want to watch this great club play in a football stadium. You know, like the one we were promised.

Enjoyed watching this. Two proper fans with a massive passion for getting the club's identity back.

I still think we can make the most of the stadium and get the atmosphere going.

Re: Hammers United talk to Bill Gardner.
He’s spot on about everything and yeah the fans do need to take a good look at themselves. That place could be a couldron if people stopped thinking in the past all the time.

Re: Hammers United talk to Bill Gardner.
the castle is one thing, but I think the museum and what happened to it are more telling. Parts of the clubs history auctioned off to fund the academy.

How fucking cheapskate is that?

Given how he thought so much about buying the oldest FA Cup, why couldn't Gold have been involved in setting up something at the new place to showcase the clubs history?

Or is he and the other two not in the least interested in it?...a club chairman spending hundreds of thousands on a cup that is not tied to the club history, who seemingly didn't give a shit about parts of his own clubs history.

Re: Hammers United talk to Bill Gardner.
I’ve been on and off over the years but been to games most seasons. Attended my first game In 66 when I was 4 with my Dad standing on a milk crate where the West Enclosure met the north bank. My two elder brothers would have been up in the cage behind us.
Not sure what you are getting at?
There was mentions in the video of redevelopment at some stage. Also an acceptance we have to make the best of. So if redevelopment is possible, and it can’t stay as it is why not give it a theme of sorts if this could be applied.
In this instance , in my view the castle seems to fit a bill for a number of things.
Getting our club back, or at least signalling a change and a symbol something has been undone from the dark cloud and tyranny that currently owns the club and ideas, and that’s all they are of turning from the nothing we have into something better, which may, may look a bit more fit for purpose.

Re: Hammers United talk to Bill Gardner.
Green street, we are all entitled to our views but I’m guessing you are a modern fan, wanting a castle on the badge and something like that being built at the new ground?

GreenStreetPlayer 10:10 Sun Oct 25
Re: Hammers United talk to Bill Gardner.
With the badge, at least we are having a debate.
More than what Brady done as mentioned in the video there was no discussion about the move or anything, they were doing it come what may, full stop.
I see the castle as a symbol, and that’s also what it is. In this instance, once the tyrants have gone from this club I see this in the first instance as a quick win symbol that they have gone!
For me it brings back a connection to our home which they destroyed, but for us at least is not forgotten.
Then perhaps in future with the castle theme in mind, if there is any conversion to the bowl make it look at least rectangle like using ‘lego bricks‘, whatever you want to use.
I’d think walking towards the ground seeing something like a castle would be an improvement, a fortress we want back.
As for inside, probably a number of things could be done not even mentioned yet, but that’s a starter for ten.

Don't understand the badge thing personally.. but understand for some it does.
Its always evolved.. the castle wasnt ever on the badge up until the early 80s..(and that was a full on castle BTW).
I like the plain hammers.. Its the LONDON

Hallerinthemorning

I don't come on here to upset anyone, but I seem to have achieved that with you. Guess I'll have to live that. As by your own words "There is no room for thought or brain" so explaining that my comments didn't come out of the blue but as part of an ongoing exchange including a picture of our greatest player ever in a shirt with a badge without a castle; would be wasted.

As for trying look cleverer than everyone else trust me in 73years on this earth the main thing I have learnt is how little I know. For example, until today I didn't know to be a West Ham fan I should disengage my brain, follow the masses and abandon common sense.

Well I have made a start, with the common sense bit as that was telling me not to even reply to your post
